Michelin-starred The Yorke Arms up for sale

The Yorkshire property, which has been run by chef Frances Atkins since 1996, is on the market for around £1.75m.

Originally a monastic cheesery, the site became a coaching inn in the 18th century and now includes a 16-room hotel, 60-cover restaurant, bar, lounge and gardens.

The restaurant has held a Michelin star since 2003 and regularly features in the Good Food Guide top 50 restaurants in the UK.

Commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is handling the sale.

“The Yorke Arms is a renowned establishment which has undergone tasteful renovations and refurbishments over the years,” said Alistair Greenhalgh, director – hotels, at LSH.

“The business draws trade from all over the UK in addition to regular, local custom. Its high profile reputation will no doubt generate interest from a wide range of purchasers.”
