The Lawns Guesthouse has been brought to the market with a guide price of £2.2m.

The accommodation is positioned on London Road in the market town of Retford in a traditional three-story, brick rendered property.

The property has been split to accommodate 18-bedroom guest houses and eight holiday apartments, with a carpark to the rear. The building also includes two additional apartments, which are currently leased to private individuals on a long-term basis with one of these flats utilised as manager’s accommodation.

Key nearby tourist attractions include the cathedral city of Lincoln, Rufford Abbey, Welbeck Abbey and the Peak District which offers a number of outdoor activities.

The current owner, who was left anonymous, stated that he decided to bring the property to market in order to relocate and be closer to his family.

He said: “It is with great sadness that we have come to this very difficult decision of selling this wonderful Georgian property. However, we have no doubt our loss will be someone else’s gain and we look forward to finding the right new owner to take the business forward.’’
