Luxury hotel group, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, has revealed its second London establishment, The Chancery Rosewood, is set to open in 2024.
Situated in Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square, the property will be developed in partnership with real estate developer Qatari Diar.
The hotel will feature 139 guest rooms and suites, as well as numerous public spaces and dining venues designed by Tristan Auer and Bar Studio.
Moreover, The Chancery will comprise an Asaya wellness facility, five retail outlets, and various meeting and events spaces including a 750-capacity ballroom.
While the Grade II-listed building has previously hosted the US embassy, the luxury property’s name stems from the fact it was London’s first purpose-built chancery.
Sonia Cheng, chief executive at Rosewood, said: “We are proud to have The Chancery Rosewood lead the transformation of the revitalised Grosvenor Square, an incredible public interest initiative that is nearly a decade in the making.
“The gifted team of architects and designers will breathe a second life into the iconic building, which is poised to become a superlative destination in London, and we thank our partners at Qatari Diar for the chance to be a part of this remarkable project.”
The project is set to become both the first five-star and UK hotel to achieve a BREEAM ‘outstanding’ rating for sustainable development.
Upon completion, The Chancery Rosewood will mark the company’s second London property and its sixth in Europe.
