The Brantwood hotel brought to market for nearly £1m

Brantwood Country House Hotel, a Cumbrian hotel and restaurant, has been brought to the market for a freehold of £950,000.

The 18th Century Stainton property was acquired by its current owners in 2007, and has since undergone refurbishments.

The site now features seven bedrooms, a 45-cover bar, a 30-cover meeting room, and a 70-cover restaurant.

Richard Langley, co-owner of the hotel, said: “We’ve truly enjoyed running this unique business for the last 15 years and building up a strong connection and friendship with our local customers and regular visitors.

“We also have a fantastic team of long-term dedicated employees who deliver the best customer service every day which makes the Brantwood so popular and successful.”

The Brantwood is located in 0.58 acres of land sat on the edge of the Lake District National Park, three miles from Ullswater.

Its grounds also comprise a “substantial” car park, as well as an external grassed seating area.

Robert Smithson, senior surveyor at Colliers’ hotels agency team, who is managing the deal, said that it is a “rare opportunity to purchase a well-established” business in an “idyllic location”.

He added: “Both the letting bedrooms and the restaurant have a very strong regular customer base, and also offer further potential for growth.

“The building and the grounds have been well maintained and the business already has a strong reservations book for the upcoming summer season.”
