Travelodge to fill 450 roles with new recruitment drive

Travelodge has announced the launch of its summer recruitment programme, and is looking to fill 450 positions across its 580 UK sites.

Around 400 of these positions need to be filled immediately across the chain’s existing UK hotels. Positions include: hotel manager, assistant hotel manager, receptionist, bar café team member, housekeeper, and housekeeping team member, as well as support roles.

In addition, the hotel group is expecting to open 17 new hotels across the UK in 2021 and grow its hotel network to 597 locations in the UK, Ireland and Spain.

These 17 new hotels are being developed by third party investors with an approximate investment value of £175m. It is expected that most of these 17 hotels will be open and trading in time for the summer season.

The company will also be recruiting for 50 new positions at the following new Travelodge hotels that will be opening later this year: London Central Elephant and Castle; London Manor House;London Peckham and Walton-on-Thames.

Travelodge added it is “dedicated to helping mums and dads looking to get back into work”, offering jobs with hours that fit around the school run, a work buddy and access to management training.

The company also operates an in-house management programme, called Aspire which helps entry level employees to “successfully climb the career ladder into management”.  Over a thousand entry level employees have been promoted to a management position through the programme.
