Blonde and Grey Ltd has acquired the Merchant House Hotel, a 30-room hotel located in the centre of Truro, in Cornwall for an undisclosed sum.
Blonde and Grey Ltd, set up by experienced hotel operators and consultants Tim and Hazel Brocklebank, who also run The Brocklebank Partnership Consultancy, has acquired the period-style property which has benefitted from a number of additions and renovations since being acquired by previous owner Nicky Whittaker in 2012.
The Brocklebanks previously owned The Rosevine, near Portscatho, which they sold in 2016.
They said: “As we take over the business, we wish Nicky well. Being local to Truro we know the hotel well, and saw a great opportunity to purchase Merchant’s House, and to take the hotel forwards. We look forward to sharing our plans for the hotel in the very near future.”
Stephen Champion, director in Christie and Co’s Hospitality team brokered the sale, said: “We are delighted to have successfully brokered the sale of Merchant House on behalf of our client, Nicky Whittaker. The hotel has a profitable track record and has seen year on year growth under our clients stewardship, so it’s no surprise that the hotel attracted bids from multiple parties.
“Tim and Hazel Brocklebank’s years of experience in the sector stand them in good stead to continue improving this business and we wish them every success in the future.”
