Working on a white-label basis, Clanalytix was retained to prepare a short-form, desk-based market and feasibility study for a proposed new hotel development in Liverpool. The hotel was to be located in a relatively up-and-coming area of the city and managed by a very well established, international operator under one of its new lifestyle brands. The engagement was instructed during the Covid-19 pandemic and had to be completed from the desk as travel to Liverpool was not possible at the time.
As Clanalytix had previously worked in the city, it already had a good degree of market knowledge to fall back on, but was able to update its information on recent trading performance and hotel development trends and deepen its understanding of the market through detailed desk-based research and telephone interviews.
